[Saba Sports News] In a few days, Sauber F1 Team will announce who will be Nico Hulkenberg’s teammate for the 2025 season, and it is likely not Valtteri Bottas. Several authoritative media outlets have confirmed that McLaren F1 Team has agreed to release promising rookie driver Gabriel Bortoleto to reach a long-term cooperation agreement with Sauber. However, Swiss journalist Roger Benoit wrote in Blick that Alfa Romeo intends to keep Bortoleto’s deal “confidential” for at least a few more days. Last Sunday, Sauber spokesperson Alessandro Alunni Bravi told Viaplay before the Brazilian Grand Prix race that the team expects to confirm Hulkenberg’s teammate within days. In response, current Sauber driver Bottas confirmed this statement in an interview after the Brazilian Grand Prix. Bottas stated that media and fans have waited too long and urged Alfa Romeo to make a decision quickly. In his view, this is a good thing because it is already anticipated who will take the driver’s seat for next season. Regardless of whether the outcome is ‘yes’ or ‘no,’ he needs to prepare for the future as soon as possible.
