[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Sir Alex Ferguson has intervened to ensure that the family of Manchester United legend Sir Matt Busby retains some privileges at Old Trafford. Busby passed away in 1994, but his family has continued to receive free season tickets next to the executive box of Sir Bobby Charlton and access to the lounge. Understandably, as part of a summer reconstruction, these seats were moved to another area of the stand, causing the Busby family to lose their seats. Ferguson intervened and spoke with Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada and COO Collette Roche to ensure the family was taken care of and allowed access to the directors’ bar. Reports suggest that the club never intended to cancel these privileges, and Old Trafford will always welcome the Busby family, as Sir Matt Busby remains an iconic figure. However, concerns have persisted regarding changes to Manchester United’s traditions since Ratcliffe completed his equity acquisition a year ago.
