[Saba Sports News] The New Orleans Pelicans may have just discovered their future franchise player at their annual baby crawl race event—set to dominate the 2050-51 season.
During Sunday’s Western Conference matchup against the San Antonio Spurs at Smoothie King Center, the halftime entertainment stole the show. While the Pelicans’ on-court performance left much to be desired, the baby crawl race delivered an absolute masterclass in speed and determination.
Thirteen babies from within a 150-mile radius of New Orleans lined up for the competition, but one tiny competitor stood—err, crawled—above the rest. Introduced with the moniker “New Bawlin,” baby No. 11 left the rest of the field bawling, putting on a legendary performance.
With undeniable speed and a relentless drive, “New Bawlin” had fans in awe. Another angle of the race only confirmed the baby’s dominance.
And with how tall No. 11’s father appeared, the Pelicans might want to keep an eye on this prodigy for a future draft pick. The competitive spirit and elite work ethic are already there.
With the Smoothie King Center crowd deflated as the Pelicans trailed 53-40 at halftime, baby No. 11 gave fans something to cheer about—providing a rare bright spot in an otherwise bleak 2024-25 season.
