[Saba Sports News] Olivier Giroud, the former French international, recently attended a talk show where he discussed his current situation post-retirement. He mentioned that he now has a lot of time to take care of his family. Giroud stated, “I have more time to spend with my family and to invest more energy into family life, creating wonderful moments with my children. They are happy about this, but my kids are a bit disappointed about my retirement from the national team because they enjoyed watching me play for the national squad. However, I feel it’s time to make way for younger players.” Giroud had a brilliant career, especially in the national team, where he became the all-time leading scorer and won a World Cup title, participating in three major finals (2016 Euro Cup, 2018 World Cup, and 2022 World Cup). It seems that Giroud’s retirement is undoubtedly an important moment for his children. They might feel a sense of loss due to the absence of shared moments with their father on the football field and may also miss having a role model and source of inspiration nearby.
