[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Bruno Fernandes recently had lunch with Manchester United’s former communications officer John Allen. It is reported that John Allen was laid off last summer due to the club’s staff reduction, which resulted in 250 people losing their jobs. Since James Ratcliffe became a partial owner of Manchester United, he has been cutting the club’s budget. Despite being forced to leave, John Allen still maintains contact with the club’s hierarchy. Recently, he had lunch with Manchester United captain B Fei at the Juniper restaurant in Wilmslow, a place often frequented by Manchester United players. John Allen worked at Manchester United for 25 years, starting in the ticket office, moving to the media department in 2011, and eventually losing his job after Ratcliffe’s INEOS group took over. In September last year, at John Allen’s last press conference, then-head coach Erik ten Hag gifted him a special number 25 Manchester United jersey in recognition of his contributions at Old Trafford. Speaking about leaving, John Allen said: “Coming from Manchester to here and working with so many great coaches is my greatest honor. This is my club, and I feel very fortunate to have worked here.”
