[Saba Sports News] Philadelphia 76ers fans aren’t exactly thrilled about Paul George rebooting his “Podcast P” show.
George initially paused the podcast in February, citing his focus on helping the Sixers “compete for a championship” as the reason. At the time, Philadelphia was 20-38 and clinging to faint hopes of reaching the play-in tournament.
But things quickly unraveled — the Sixers won just four of their final 24 games, effectively shifting into tank mode not long after George stepped away from the mic.
Now, nearly three months later, George has released a new episode of “Podcast P.” In it, he said he wasn’t “running away” from anything and used the time off to get fully healthy. He also mentioned wanting to “give back” to fans.
Not everyone was buying it.
Some Sixers fans mocked the timing of the podcast’s return, especially considering how poorly the season went. In a city known for its passionate — and brutally honest — fanbase, George’s off-court focus didn’t sit well with many supporters.
The Sixers had signed George to a major deal with the expectation he’d elevate the team to contender status.
Instead, injuries limited him to just 41 games, and when he was on the court, he didn’t look like himself. George averaged 16.2 points per game — his lowest mark in 10 years.
The backlash to his podcast revival reflects the growing frustration in Philadelphia, where fans are still waiting to see the version of Paul George they thought they were getting.
