[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media reports, Barcelona will use part of the signing bonus from its deal with Nike to pay Nico Williams’ release clause. Reports suggest that Barcelona will use part of the signing bonus from its deal with Nike to pay Nico Williams’ release clause, just as they previously used it to pay Joan Garcia’s release clause. The total cost of both transfers, including taxes, amounted to approximately €90 million, while the signing bonus with Nike totaled €155 million. The club currently has no cash flow issues, so the payment of the release clause may be completed soon, allowing Nico Williams to join Barcelona at the start of preseason training according to his own wishes. Despite this, the club is still negotiating a credit line worth €25-€30 million to ensure “working capital,” as we’re talking about a multinational club with nearly €1 billion in annual turnover, with massive capital flow. For Barcelona, the issue with Nico Williams is primarily registration-related, requiring the release of wage space through player departures and completing a transfer sale, as well as waiting for the €42 million income from New Era that hasn’t yet been received.
