[Saba Sports News] Recently, Chip Ganassi Racing team owner Chip Ganassi stated that reports about Red Bull’s interest in signing four-time IndyCar champion Alex Palou are unfounded. Earlier this week, rumors suggested the Red Bull F1 team might be interested in Palou, hoping to bring him into Formula 1. However, in a media interview on Tuesday, Ganassi explicitly denied the speculation surrounding his star driver. He said: “I saw that report myself, but no one was quoted by name in it. I’ve spoken to Alex, and he said he’s never spoken to anyone about it. I’ve spoken to his management, and they know nothing about it, and I know nothing about it. I think it was a clickbait story, and someone needs to go back to Journalism 101.” When asked if he was worried about competition from other teams for Palou given his continued success, Ganassi seemed unconcerned: “Everybody wants what everybody wants, and that means you’ve got something pretty good. I think the biggest threat is not F1, it’s us. I try to create the best environment for our team, and for the drivers. I only know how to make it the best place for them to work, and that seems to be working. Alex had a chance to leave for McLaren, and he didn’t.”
