[Saba Sports News] According to French media reports, Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique is very focused on managing his physical fitness. Although Enrique is 54 years old and recently recovered from a broken collarbone sustained in a cycling accident, his commitment to sports remains astonishing. Enrique has jokingly referred to himself as “more like a grandpa,” but since retiring as a player, he has continued to participate in endurance sports like marathons, trail running, and triathlons. Reports indicate that Enrique’s current weight is even lower than during his playing days. This strict self-discipline is also reflected in his management of the team: he led the club to purchase a DEXA scanner for precise body fat measurement and uses it regularly himself, just like the players, leading by example. Enrique’s physical condition left a strong impression on professional cycling team manager Marc Madiot, who praised him as “super fit.” A club staff member also revealed that if Enrique is late for a meeting, he’s most likely in the gym or the physio room. This passion for physical management has become a unique hallmark of his coaching style.
