[Saba Sports News] According to official F1 reports, despite the growing threat from Max Verstappen, Lando Norris has dismissed suggestions that McLaren will issue team orders favoring either himself or Oscar Piastri in the championship fight. As Norris heads into the F1 Mexico City Grand Prix weekend, the points gap between him and his teammate Piastri has narrowed to just 14 points, although neither driver has won in the past four Grands Prix. In contrast, Verstappen has won three of the last four Sunday races, and the points gap to Piastri has now shrunk to 40 points. When asked on Thursday in Mexico if team orders would be implemented to help secure the drivers’ championship, Norris replied: “No. Business as usual. We both want to win, and we know we have competitors around us. But I think we know how to work together, and we know how to race each other. But I think we’re doing it the right way, so we’ll just continue doing what we’re doing.” Norris hasn’t won since the Hungarian Grand Prix in August but has secured 15 podiums in 19 races, more than both Piastri and Verstappen. He believes he will be directly involved in the championship fight in the remaining races.
