[Saba Sports News] According to GPBlog, Charles Leclerc believes that finishing second in the Constructors’ Championship is still “not good enough” for Ferrari, although the Monegasque driver also acknowledged that the team’s current position marks significant progress compared to the start of the season. In recent races, Ferrari and Mercedes have been locked in a tight battle for P2 in the Constructors’ standings, with the Italian team currently leading by just one point. Ahead of the F1 Sao Paulo Grand Prix weekend, when asked if securing P2 again would be a good result for the team, Leclerc responded: “It’s still not good enough. I think, when you are in a team like Ferrari, the only good position is first place. But we also have to be realistic, the competition is very strong, with teams that have great history and are special in their own way in motorsport. It’s not easy, but I believe, being at Ferrari, when you work for such an exceptional brand, P2 is still not enough, you have to aim for first place. Considering our starting point at the beginning of the season and where we are now, it’s still a good season. We have made significant progress throughout the season because, at the beginning of the year, it was really difficult to understand exactly how to drive the new car. But now, the goal is to fight for P2 in the Constructors’, and next year, we will set the target higher.”
