Sports News] According to reports from Brazilian media, Neymar has filed a
lawsuit against transgender actress Sofia Barkley for defamation. It is
reported that Neymar has initiated legal action in a Sao Paulo court, seeking
compensation of 100,000 reais from Sofia Barkley. Neymar’s legal team cited
Sofia’s statements made in interviews with at least three media outlets,
claiming that her comments have harmed Neymar’s dignity, image, and reputation.
In Neymar’s complaint, it was stated that one of the media outlets had removed
the interview content after finding that the interviewee had no evidence to
substantiate the reported incident. Previously, Sofia Barkley had claimed that
she engaged in sexual activities with Neymar, along with another woman and the
Brazilian surfer, Scooby, in December 2021. Sofia alleged that Neymar asked her
to sign a confidentiality agreement and not disclose their relationship,
warning her of a penalty of 20,000 reais for any breach. However, Sofia has
stated that she is unaware of Neymar’s lawsuit and has not received any
notification regarding the legal proceedings.
