[Saba Sports News] Former F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has once again sparked discussion with his sharp comments, this time targeting Lewis Hamilton and the Scuderia Ferrari F1 team. In an interview with German media, Ecclestone bluntly stated that Hamilton is one of the best drivers of the past decade, but not the absolute best. He insisted that the Hamilton-Ferrari combination resembles a commercial package more than a sport-focused collaboration aimed at championships. Ecclestone described the partnership as a project driven by finance and marketing. Not only was Hamilton himself criticized, but Ferrari Team Principal Frederic Vasseur also became a target of Ecclestone’s remarks. Ecclestone expressed that the principal, who took office in 2023 and renewed his contract this summer, is not the ideal person to manage Ferrari, stating that Ferrari needs a dictator, someone who can make final decisions, an influential and decisive leader. Despite the external skepticism, Hamilton maintains that his partnership with Ferrari is a long-term plan requiring time to develop. Facing the doubts, Hamilton emphasized that the only thing he can do is focus on what he can control: preparation, collaboration, mindset, and belief.
