[Saba Sports News] Japanese badminton player Nozomi Okuhara, after her match at the Malaysia Open, was interviewed by the media. When asked about her pre-match warm-up routine, she revealed her habit of warming up before matches, noting that her favorite method is yoga. She stated, ‘As I’ve aged, my body’s recovery speed has slowed down, and high-intensity dynamic warm-ups can easily lead to muscle fatigue, which can affect my explosiveness in the match. Slow-paced stretching activates the muscles better, relaxes the joints, and helps keep breathing and heart rate steady, avoiding pre-match tension.’
I believe that there are no absolute standards for preparing for badminton; the key is to find what works for you. For regular enthusiasts, it’s also important to adjust warm-up routines according to their age, physical condition, and fitness goals, avoiding blindly following trends. This allows the warm-up to truly serve performance and health, making it a rational, scientific, and highly personalized preparation choice.
