[Saba Sports News] According to German media reports, each Bayern Munich player receives a new service vehicle from Audi every year. The automobile manufacturer, headquartered in Ingolstadt, has been a sponsor of the club since 2002 and has held shares in Bayern Munich since 2010. In 2020, Bayern Munich became the first top football club in the world to equip all players with electric vehicles. Therefore, each player must choose an electric model, although the club’s management does not currently enforce this requirement. In recent years, the club has emphasized that players must drive Audi vehicles to all official events. Previously, driving other brands under the Volkswagen Group, such as Bentley, Lamborghini, or Porsche, was tolerated, but from 2020 to 2023, during the tenure of former Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic, it was explicitly stipulated that players “can only drive Audi.”
The writer believes that Bayern Munich maintains a close cooperative relationship with its sponsoring shareholder Audi, reflected in the club’s strict vehicle regulations. Additionally, this benefit undoubtedly provides players with more convenience. On match days, players travel to the stadium via team bus, but their personal Audis are driven by a chauffeur and parked in the VIP area next to the locker room entrance, making it convenient for them to leave with family and friends after the game.
