[Saba Sports News] According to French media reports, Paris Saint-Germain will not be allowed to set up official fan viewing zones in public spaces during the Champions League final against Arsenal. Paris Deputy Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire had voiced his intention to approve such zones on the night PSG qualified for the final, but France’s Minister of the Interior soon raised reservations due to an exceptionally packed schedule of major events taking place on the same day. These include a concert by singer Aya Nakamura at the Stade de France, a show by rapper Damso at the Paris La Défense Arena, a performance by Bouss at the Accor Arena, as well as the Roland Garros Tennis Tournament and a rugby match also held at the Stade de France. Grégoire himself soon acknowledged the situation. On Monday morning, he explained: “For me, the top priority is the safety of Parisians and spectators. I have to admit that with so many major events clustered on the same day, it becomes extremely difficult to allocate resources and security arrangements for all of them at once.”
The editor believes that the authorities will pay attention to this issue in the future: free public fan viewing zones should not be cancelled simply due to a cluster of private events. It is expected that such large-scale activities will avoid being scheduled at the same time going forward, allowing local residents and football fans to enjoy free public viewing events.
