As such, Stockton has all the more reason to savor the moment as the Fiberoptic Warriors return to the playoffs, even though bigger challenges already await him. Stockton was the final winner of the PBA News Clip-Philippines Live Player of the Week award for performances in the final week of the group stage of the Governors Cup, which ran from Sept. 17-23.
“We learned a lot from last season because we lost a lot of games,” Stockton said. His performance earned him recognition from the PBA Press Corps, an award voted for by the journalists who cover the PBA.
The other players nominated include Stockton team-mate Justin Arana, Robert Bolick of NLEX and RR Pogoy of TNT.
Stockton led Convergey to a four-game winning streak at the end of the group stage, with wins over Meralco and Magnolia in the final week to seal a playoff spot.
