Sports News] Arsenal recently announced an increase in the price of season
tickets for the upcoming season. The cost of lower-level seats at the Emirates
Stadium will rise by 6%, while upper-level seats will see a 4% increase. The
club cited the need to cover rising stadium operating costs and to compete
financially with teams like Manchester City as reasons for the price hike.
However, the Arsenal Supporters Trust expressed their dissatisfaction with the
decision and issued a statement, stating that they are disappointed with the
club’s refusal to freeze ticket prices despite the increased number of home
games, which will generate more profit for the club. As a result of the price
increase, fans purchasing season tickets for the 2024-25 season will be paying
approximately 10% more than the previous season. The club’s broadcast and
commercial revenue is expected to increase by up to £150 million over two
seasons, surpassing £500 million, making the price increase appear unnecessary
in the eyes of the supporters.
