[Saba Sports News] New Phoenix Suns head coach Mike Budenholzer already has his starting lineup set for next season.
In an interview with NBA.com’s Steve Aschburner, Budenholzer revealed that Tyus Jones will be the starting point guard, alongside the Suns’ Big Three: Bradley Beal, Devin Booker, and Kevin Durant, with Jusuf Nurkic at center.
“Tyus has proven himself as a great starting point guard, and when you pair him with Kevin, Brad, Book, and Nurk, we feel confident in our starting five,” Budenholzer said. He also mentioned the team has a strong bench to support them.
While Jones should improve the team’s playmaking, the Suns may face defensive challenges with Grayson Allen losing his starting spot, leaving Durant as their best defender. However, bench players like Allen, Royce O’Neale, and Josh Okogie can contribute defensively in key situations.
Budenholzer will need to find the right balance, as Phoenix looks to avoid another early playoff exit and maximize their Big Three’s potential.
