[Saba Sports News] The new F1 entrant, the Cadillac Racing Team, recently unveiled its first livery, but this move has landed them in trouble as they have been warned by the FIA for non-compliance. It is reported that there are clear livery regulations for the new season. The FIA’s new rules for the 2026 season explicitly state that the total area of commercial advertising on the car body must not exceed 40% of the visible surface area. The FIA has now formally issued a warning letter, requiring modifications to be completed before the season opener in March. If the changes are not made by the deadline, the car will fail inspection and be directly barred from competing. In our opinion, fortunately, this is only an issue with the exterior livery and does not affect core components such as the car’s power unit or chassis. It should be relatively straightforward to make the necessary adjustments—simply reducing the size of brand or sponsor logos, tweaking the layout, and minimizing the advertising area while preserving the team’s brand identity. This is a routine matter in the industry, and the FIA is merely enforcing the rules strictly. If an exception were made for Cadillac, other teams would likely follow suit, rendering the rules meaningless.
