[Saba Sports News] Italian legendary coach Claudio Ranieri, currently serving as the technical director of Serie A club Roma, recently addressed questions about a potential return to coaching in a media interview. Ranieri denied any plans to resume coaching, stating that he is likely to retire in his current role. He said, “I’ve moved on from coaching; it’s too exhausting, and I’m no longer up for it. In recent years, I’ve realized that losses hit me too hard. The joy of winning is short-lived, as I immediately start thinking about the next match. But losses, I keep dwelling on them.”Although he has stepped away from frontline coaching, Ranieri has not truly left football. He remains with Roma as technical director and management advisor, contributing his years of coaching experience and football insights to the team’s strategic planning, transfer arrangements, and support for the coaching staff. In this way, he continues his passion for football in a different capacity.
From the editor’s perspective, for Ranieri, this is not an exit but rather a shift from the high-pressure demands of frontline coaching to a more relaxed way of staying involved with the sport. No longer swayed by wins and losses, this dignified farewell may be the best conclusion to the veteran coach’s career.
