I had nothing negative to say about him, so I had no reason to defame him.” Reflecting on their past relationship, they actually didn’t spend much time together—it was during Ronaldo’s early days at Manchester United. They were together for a few months before parting ways peacefully that same year, without any conflicts. From her words, it’s clear that Ronaldo always treated her with respect during their time together, and even after their amicable breakup, there was no unpleasantness. Therefore, she simply had no material to use against him. This revelation has since been picked up by multiple media outlets and has spread widely in recent days, shedding light on a previously unknown side of the story.
In my opinion, it’s truly admirable that Atkinson chose to uphold her principles by not casually defaming her ex or earning untainted money, even when she could have easily accepted the offer and gained publicity.
