Sports News] According to reports from British media, England’s wives are
planning to spend £100,000 on hiring private bodyguards during the European Championship
in Germany. The decision was made due to concerns from the German government
about the threat of terrorist attacks during the tournament. Instead of relying
on the security team appointed by the Football Association (FA), the wives
group, known as the Taitai Group, intends to employ ex-military personnel who
are experienced in handling various threats. Their aim is to operate at a safe
distance in order to avoid drawing too much attention. By doing so, they hope
to enjoy more freedom while ensuring their safety. Furthermore, they wish to
avoid being constantly monitored and having their every move reported back to
the FA. During the recent World Cup in Qatar, the FA’s security team had
provided protection for them, but this time they are seeking additional security
measures. Initially, the offer made by the wives group was £65,000, but if
England progresses further in the tournament, the total amount spent on
security is expected to exceed £100,000.
