[Saba Sports News] What would you do if you had a few million pounds in your pocket? One option could be to buy the MP4-21, British driver Lewis Hamilton’s first test car at McLaren. The Adrian Newey designed race car is currently for sale through RM Sotheby’s, with a pre-auction guide price of between £2.2 million and £2.7 million. In return, you would own a piece of racing history, a car with a cool livery, and a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter V8 engine. This engine produces 760 horsepower at top speed. The power is controlled through a seven-speed sequential transmission and delivered to a set of fully road-legal Michelin tires. The winning bidder may need a pair of earmuffs to experience the roar. Formula One cars rarely come up for auction, especially one as significant as this. Some fans mentioned that in the recently concluded F1 British Grand Prix, Hamilton won the championship, ending a two-and-a-half-year title drought. RM Sotheby’s saw Hamilton’s popularity and decided to auction the MP4-21 racing car, using Hamilton’s first test car as a reference for the McLaren team.
