[Saba Sports News] After taking his first podium since joining Ferrari at the Chinese Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton said bluntly that he is closer to his first win with the team than ever before. Hamilton’s move to Ferrari in 2025 attracted huge attention, but the results were disappointing—he even endured the first season of his career without a single podium. However, things have begun to change in 2026. With the new regulations fully implemented, Hamilton has gradually adapted to the race rhythm centered on energy management and has been competitive for podiums in both Australia and China. Although he lost out to teammate Charles Leclerc in the Melbourne Grand Prix and finished fourth, he finally broke through in China and reached the podium. Hamilton said he is close to his best both mentally and physically, while still having room to improve. He revealed he undertook intensive training during the offseason and hopes to build a closer working relationship with the team.
The editor believes Hamilton’s fighting spirit, experience, and hunger for victory are unquestionable; however, achieving an eighth world title will be extremely difficult given his age, the car’s competitiveness, and the dominance of rivals.
