[Saba Sports News] The Golden State Warriors finally received a positive update on Steph Curry’s hamstring injury — though it might be too late to make a difference.
According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, Curry is progressing well in his rehab and will be re-evaluated on Wednesday. The Warriors are still targeting a potential Game 6 return in their Western Conference semifinal series, and that scenario is reportedly becoming more realistic.
The catch: Golden State needs to force a Game 6 first. Curry has already ruled himself out for Game 5, meaning the Warriors must win on the road without him to keep their season alive.
Curry suffered the hamstring strain in Game 1 against the Minnesota Timberwolves and exited in the second quarter. Though the Warriors managed to win that opener, they’ve dropped three straight games since, struggling to generate offense without Curry’s movement and shooting to space the floor.
Even if Curry is cleared for a Game 6 return, how close he’ll be to full strength remains uncertain. For now, the Warriors face a do-or-die Game 5 without their leader — and with their backs against the wall.
