[Saba Sports News] Nike is continuing its trend of reviving iconic ’90s silhouettes, bringing back bold and futuristic styles that once defined the decade.
While much attention has been given to the Air Jordan line, Nike also spent the era pushing design boundaries with models like the Air Flightposite — which made its long-awaited return in 2025. Now, the highly anticipated “Dusty Cactus” colorway is set to drop later this summer.
Originally released in 1999, the Air Flightposite was the brainchild of legendary Nike designer Eric Avar — the mind behind the Air Foamposite, Huarache, and many of Kobe Bryant’s signature sneakers.
Built for elite athletes like Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan, and Jason Kidd, the Flightposite stood out for its futuristic aesthetic and performance-first construction.
Following the buzz around the recent all-black colorway, Nike is doubling down with new looks for the silhouette. The upcoming “Dusty Cactus” edition was first spotted on-foot at a Nike event months ago, sparking fan demand ever since.
Dressed in a striking mix of Off Noir, White, Dusty Cactus, Persian Violet, and Metallic Silver, the sneaker stays true to the model’s bold roots.
The shoe features a molded Foamposite upper with aerodynamic wave textures, topped by a zippered neoprene shroud that conceals the mesh tongue and laces beneath.
Underfoot, a black outsole with a carbon fiber midfoot plate offers increased responsiveness and energy return — though its historically hefty weight has limited its NBA appearances. However, with updated materials in the 2025 version, that may soon change.
The Nike Air Flightposite “Dusty Cactus” is slated for release on June 26, 2025, retailing at $2025. It will be available in full adult sizing as a “quickstrike” drop, meaning supply will be extremely limited on the Nike SNKRS app.
Given the hype already surrounding this release, resale prices are expected to soar once they sell out.
