[Saba Sports News] Recently, Julian Brandt, in an interview with Borussia Dortmund’s official website, talked about his role as vice-captain and assistant coach Lukasz Piszczek. Brandt stated, “I’m feeling very good right now and looking forward to the new season. Of course, I will do my best—I have to, it’s my responsibility. This year, I have to take on more responsibility, and that’s what Nuri Sahin expects of me. He’s made that very clear.” Additionally, Brandt revealed that Piszczek recently participated in a 5v5 training match and scored the most goals, noting that his old teammate’s physical condition is still excellent. Brandt said, “I have a lot of respect for Piszczek; few players are like him. We talk often, and whether you’re a main player, a goal scorer, an assister, or someone who sits on the bench frequently, he treats everyone the same. What matters to him is that you give your all.” As for Piszczek’s role as assistant coach, it will be interesting to see how Dortmund fans feel about it.
