[Saba Sports News] Recently, multiple media outlets reported that Paul Pogba’s four-year ban has been reduced to 18 months. Reports indicate that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) confirmed that Pogba unintentionally used a banned substance, thus shortening his four-year ban to 18 months. He will be allowed to train with Juventus starting in January and can participate in matches from March. His €5,000 fine has also been revoked. After the successful appeal, Pogba issued a personal statement: “The nightmare is finally over. According to the ruling of the CAS, I can look forward to the day I can pursue my dreams again. I have always said that when I took the nutritional supplements prescribed by my doctor, I never intentionally violated the World Anti-Doping Agency regulations; these supplements do not affect or enhance male athletes’ performance. I play with integrity, but I must accept that this is a strict liability offense. I want to thank the CAS judges who listened to my explanation. This has been a very painful period in my life, as everything I worked for was put on hold. Thank you all for your love and support. I can’t wait to get back on the field.”
