The Lakers have some advantages, such as DeRozan being a Los Angeles native and having played at USC. A sign-and-trade with the Chicago Bulls would be required if DeRozan chooses the Lakers.
Despite the challenges, the Lakers remain optimistic as DeRozan is likely to leave the Bulls. DeRozan, a six-time All-Star, averaged 24 points per game last season and is known for his exceptional midrange game.
