[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, after Jamie Vardy’s wife Rebekah lost her defamation case against Wayne Rooney’s wife Coleen, the latter filed a claim against the former. In this multi-million pound lawsuit, Coleen is claiming £1.8 million in legal fees from Rebekah, which includes a £225 bar bill and £2,000 hotel accommodation costs incurred by the lawyers. In response, Rebekah accused Coleen of deliberately deceiving by under-reporting budget costs before the trial began and claimed there were multiple errors in the bills. Coleen argued that Rebekah suddenly admitted a leak might have come from her social media a week before the trial, leading to increased costs. According to materials submitted by Coleen’s lawyer, they spent nearly 1,000 hours on this case, including £371,336.13 in trial preparation fees, £215,307.31 in trial fees, and £148,695.75 in expert fees, with a total cost of £497,850 for hiring barrister David Shelburne. Rebekah’s side questioned the claim of nearly 1,000 hours of work by Coleen’s lawyers, while Coleen’s lawyers contended that the high costs were due to Rebekah’s actions, which involved data destruction that required extensive work from IT experts.
