[Saba Sports News] Recently, Mercedes driver George Russell shared what he has learned so far from the 2025 season. This season, McLaren has been dominant, and the British driver currently ranks fourth in the drivers’ championship. In 2025, Russell has achieved the most podium finishes among non-McLaren drivers. He explained in detail how he and the Mercedes team adjust their goals based on the actual conditions of each race weekend. The 27-year-old driver also emphasized that he has learned to value every small victory this season. Russell said, “You need to cherish those small victories. You should set more realistic goals based on the actual conditions of each race weekend. What is a realistic goal for this season? Winning the championship? That’s not realistic. Of course, we’re working toward it, but if we don’t achieve it, we shouldn’t be too hard on ourselves, because we just aren’t capable of it yet. So, every time we go to a race weekend, we think, ‘We believe we have a chance to fight for the podium.’ You have to learn to appreciate those small victories, otherwise you’ll fall into a spiral of negativity and mental struggle, which will only affect your performance.”
