[Saba Sports News] On April 9th to 14th, the 2024
Asian Badminton Championships will take place in Ningbo, China. Ahead of the
tournament, players from various Asian badminton associations have arrived in
Ningbo. However, some players are finding it difficult to adjust to the cold
weather, including Thai badminton player Sapsiree Taerattanachai. Sapsiree,
through personal social media, reached out to Chinese mixed doubles player
Huang Yaqiong and requested to borrow some warm clothing, hoping she could
provide them before the event. Fans have commented on the friendly interaction
between Chinese and Thai players. April in Ningbo experiences significant
temperature differences between morning and evening, ranging from 9 to 23
degrees Celsius. This contrasts with the usually hot conditions in Thailand,
where temperatures range from 30 to 37 degrees Celsius. It’s understandable
that Thai players may struggle with the change. In last year’s Asian
Championships, the mixed doubles pair of Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree
unexpectedly exited in the first round. This year, they are determined to
achieve better results. Currently ranked sixth in the world, Dechapol and
Sapsiree have already secured their qualification as seeded players for the
Paris Olympics.
