[Saba Sports News] Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry offered a troubling update on the hamstring injury he sustained during Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Curry was asked if he was concerned about rushing back too soon.
His response was revealing — he said that won’t be an issue because the strain is severe enough to prevent any early return. In fact, Curry admitted he’s not even able to take stationary shots at the moment.
The Warriors plan to re-evaluate Curry in a week, but there’s no guarantee he’ll be ready by then. His comments suggest that even that timeline might be overly optimistic.
Curry was clearly in pain when the injury occurred and was quickly ruled out of Game 1, though the Warriors still managed to pull off a win. That victory could prove crucial if Golden State is forced to continue without their superstar for most — or even all — of the series.
For now, Curry is expected to miss at least through Game 4, and based on his own assessment, his absence may stretch beyond that.
