[Saba Sports News] Recently, the Danish Badminton Association officially announced the happy news that mixed doubles player Amalie Magelund is pregnant. However, Amalie will still take part in the European Badminton Championships to be held in Spain from April 6 to 12. After that, she will formally enter a break from competition and temporarily say goodbye to the international circuit. Amalie also posted a long message on social media expressing her joy. She said she is overjoyed to become a mother and very much looks forward to the time ahead, which will surely be full of surprises, hardships, and challenges. After giving birth, she will work to maintain her competitive condition — including badminton practice and strength training. Her goal is very clear: to return to high-level badminton after childbirth. For her, it is important to show other female players in Danish badminton that having children during a professional career is entirely feasible and that it is possible to return to the top afterward.
The editor believes that female athletes should have full autonomy over their reproductive choices and should not be exploited for traffic or pressured by public opinion. Moreover, with good physical fitness and scientific, systematic training, athletes can hope to return to peak performance after childbirth.
