[Saba Sports News] In the F1 Chinese Grand Prix held last Sunday, Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton both had their results disqualified due to technical violations. This unexpected turn of events allowed four-time F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel to “once again” reclaim the top position on Ferrari’s historical points leaderboard. Initially, Leclerc secured fifth place in the Chinese race, bringing his total career points with Ferrari to 1,409, officially surpassing Vettel’s record of 1,400 points. However, race officials found that his car was underweight during post-race checks, resulting in disqualification alongside Alpine’s Pierre Gasly. More critically, Hamilton was also disqualified for exceeding the wear limit on his floor, leading to a disastrous race weekend for Ferrari. This turn of events caused Leclerc’s points to drop back to 1,399, just one point short of reclaiming the record from the retired Vettel. In response, Leclerc took to social media to express that his record would eventually come. Some fans noted that as the Red Bull team continues to struggle and McLaren dominates the first two races, Ferrari’s decline appears particularly glaring.
