[Saba Sports News] Despite previous mixed results with D’Angelo Russell and Kent Bazemore, the Golden State Warriors are reportedly showing interest in another player with Los Angeles Lakers ties. According to KC Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago, the Warriors have inquired about trading for Chicago Bulls guard Alex Caruso, a move the Bulls initially resisted due to their focus on pursuing a playoff spot.
However, with recent significant injuries and a diminishing playoff outlook, as evidenced by Chicago’s 23-27 record placing them ninth in the Eastern Conference, the situation may have shifted.
Alex Caruso, who won an NBA championship with the Lakers in 2020 and was named to the All-Defensive First Team in 2023, is recognized for his substantial impact on defense and his efficient 40.5 percent three-point shooting this season, along with his capability to assist in playmaking.
While the Warriors’ current record of 21-25 suggests they may not be in a strong position to contend for the championship this season, acquiring Caruso could bolster their playoff ambitions. Furthermore, Golden State might offer cap relief to the Bulls, potentially making a trade more appealing.
