[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, West Ham United will sever ties with their biggest sponsor next year due to allegations of involvement in gambling, which could result in Lucas Paqueta being banned for life. The sponsor is an online gambling company that issued a warning about the number of bets placed on Paqueta receiving a yellow card during last season’s West Ham matches, leading to accusations of match-fixing against the Brazilian star and a lifetime ban request from the English Football Association. The reports state that West Ham is extremely angry with the FA and is considering legal action to prevent the case from being heard. The club is contemplating filing a lawsuit with the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, claiming that the FA has no right to impose a lifetime ban on Paqueta. In addition, West Ham is also unhappy with the sponsor, especially for not having a conversation with them before reporting suspicious bets to integrity investigators. As the UK government banned gambling advertising on the front of football shirts starting from the summer of that year, West Ham has been considering other options for the 2026/27 season and beyond, but the Paqueta case could accelerate their plans to part ways with the sponsor.00
