[Saba Sports News] Red Bull Racing is already
focusing on the development of the RB21 car for the 2025 Formula One season,
despite the 2024 season not having started yet. A special report in the
February issue of the racing magazine “racecar engineering” detailed
the development process of the RB19, with information provided by Red Bull
Performance Engineering Director Ben Waterhouse. The RB19 is an upgrade and
improvement over the previous RB18 model, addressing some of its shortcomings
and limitations. One significant improvement in the RB19 is the release of
performance that was previously hindered by the weight of the car. The RB18 had
struggled with being overweight, but its stable handling was achieved through
superior chassis suspension control, allowing for a lower ride height without
causing the car to bottom out excessively. The RB19 further enhances this
aspect by optimizing the rear suspension design. It is mentioned that some
design goals for the RB20 were already established during the development of
the RB19, indicating that the RB20 had been previewed for at least eight
months. However, the focus has now shifted to the RB21 car for the 2025 season.
